Honoring Our Fallen Heroes

Fallen Warrior Women Marine Memorial Scholarship
Remembering our Fallen Warriors

The MI-2 Motor City Chapter of the Women Marines Association is raising money to fund a scholarship in the name of the eight women Marines who have been killed in the line of duty while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Named “The Fallen Women Marine Warrior Scholarship Fund”, it honors their memory, sacrifices, love of family, Country and Corps.

Fundraising began in September 2009 when they hosted their inaugural golf outing at Selfridge ANG Base. To date, more than $5,000 have been raised through the Women Marines Association.

In order to establish and present the Scholarship at the 2010 WMA Convention in Denver, $30,000 more needs to be raised. The 2010 outing is schedule for May 15th, Armed Forces Day and earlier in the season to garner support and sponsorship that wasn’t available at the end of 2009.
