WMA Convention Las Vegas

Exploring Our Las Vegas Convention

The excitement is building as we continue to bring you another fantastic convention. The convention team is working hard to assure that your 2022 convention experience is among your top trips this year.

On the 29th you can start checking in and then take a minute to say hello at our welcome reception. That is tentatively scheduled for 6pm – 8pm. That gives everyone a bit of time to get in, register, grab a snack and then check out the slots or explore Fremont Street. It was decided to go with this later date due to the high temperatures that Las Vegas is known for. We should be in the 80’s for our visit. It can get a little cooler in the evening so pack a sweater.

You will find a few changes in how we do things this year. We have shortened the convention to 4 days to make it more affordable.  The Installation will now be held at the Closing Banquet tentatively. We will not be having a First Timers event but will make sure that they are recognized. Everything else will pretty much be the same. Check out our tentative schedule.

You will get a taste of Old Vegas during your stay. The oldest casino, Golden Gate, which is right around the corner from us opened in 1906. There is a Neon Museum where you can see all of the vintage signs from old casinos of days gone by.  Right next to the Golden Nugget you can see “Vegas Vic”, the iconic neon cowboy that was designed in 1947. His wife, Vegas Vicki is currently getting a much-needed spa break and will be on display at the new Circa Las Vegas Resort. Into those haunted places? Well, Vegas has that as we… Hotel Apache first opened in 1932 and is said to be the most haunted spot in Las Vegas. Many workers and guests claim they have seen and heard the spirits of the past. Check out the Mob Museum as well and check out the Vegas gangster past. Afterwards, stop at the speakeasy and belly up to the bar.
