244th Marine Corps Birthday
This time of year, all Marines no matter where we are around the globe take this opportunity to stop and celebrate the unique history of our Corps. Whether we are still serving on active duty or we are Veteran Marines, we continue to reach out to renew the ties that bind us. We own the legacy, the pride, the tradition, and the responsibility to take care of the Eagle Globe and Anchor and all that it stands for.
The opportunity to serve in the United States Marine Corps is a privilege given only to a few. Whether male or female we all raised our hands, took the oath, did what our Corps asked of us and earned the title Marine.
As we celebrate the 244th birthday of our beloved Corps, let us take pride in our accomplishments and the role we have each played in our Corps history. Let us recognize and appreciate how those contributions have led to today’s integrated Marine team.
Thank you for your service and sacrifice to our nation and to our Corps. I am honored and privileged to share the title Marine with each one of you. Happy Birthday Marines and Semper Fidelis!
